From 2006 until 2014 tens of talented designers invented, designed and prototyped interaction right on the theatrical city of Venice, under the guidance of Gillian and Phil. The two mentors founded and directed, 2006-2014, the Interaction Design programme at IUAV University of Venice.

Gillian Crampton Smith was Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Related Design at the Royal College of Art, London, and founding Director of Interaction Design Institute Ivrea, Italy. Philip Tabor was the Professor of Architectural Theory and Criticism at University College London, and the Director of its Bartlett School of Architecture.
